CHEST	chess problem analyst

CHEST is a program to solve chess problems.  As it is the result
of a spare time project it is experimental and not a "product".

The main purpose is to solve non-trivial orthodox mate problems.
Selfmate, helpmate and all 3 -stalemate versions have been implemented also,
but they are not considered important.  Fairy pieces, conditions and
stipulations are neither included, nor will they ever fit the
structure of the program.

CHEST is written in ANSI C.  It has been developed under HP-UX,
but should easily port to any flavor of UNIX (which has ANSI C).
Successful compilation under Windows NT has been reported.
